WHO ARE WE

Based in the Chamonix Valley, at the foot of Mont Blanc, Simond has been developing mountaineering equipment for over 150 years and is set to continue to do so for the next 150 years.

Our team of 35 people, who were born in the mountains or have made them their home, features a rich diversity of origins and know-how: operators, mounters, machine-setters, engineers, designers, sales people.

We are proud to manufacture all Simond ice axes, crampons and carabiners in our ISO 9001 certified factory in Les Houches. This is our guarantee of safety, as every Simond employee, in contact with climbers, is committed to maintaining the very highest standard of quality for his products.

Joining the Oxylane network in 2008 has allowed us to expand our product range to include ropes, harnesses, backpacks, clothing and footwear. All of them are designed in Les Houches, and are tried and tested in the field and in our laboratory to ensure you have complete confidence when using them.

We are in contact with climbers from across the world all year round to develop innovative, simple, reliable and efficient products designed for all forms of climbing, from indoor walls to expeditions.

The Simond team tests Simond equipment in the most punishing conditions, continuing the tradition of "Simond, the equipment of great exploits!"
As an international distributor present in more than 30 countries, we are strongly involved in standardisation committees in France, Europe and the rest of the world: AFNOR, CEN and UIAA.

Simond is a fully-fledged member of the Decathlon group, and we are proud to share the same values and vision: to share our passion for the mountains and its most beautiful routes with the greatest number of people.
