The various components of the belaying system (harnesses, carabiners, straps, anchor points, belay devices, descenders) must comply with the UIAA label/control: check the sheath regularly. Lifespan: Can be stored for 5 years in good condi- tions before normal use for 2/3 years or intensive use for 1 year. But may become unusable on first use. Storage: away from light, frost and moisture. Avoid contact with corrosive or aggressive mate- rials.Wash with clean water. Marking: the diameter (mm), length, breaking strength (kN), mass per metre (G/m), number of the standard (EN), month and year (YYYY/MM) of manufacture and the CE mark (equipment complying with the requirements of EU Regulation 2016/425) are shown on the sheath or spool.
