INSPECTION
Before and after each trip, check the general condition of the rope, both visually and by hand. Replace the rope as soon as possible after a serious fall or as soon as you notice any deterioration.

Versatile use in mountaineering and climbing (4mm for load attachment, 5/6mm for stirrups, rings, plugs, 7mm for rings, plugs), with the exception of belaying and caving. - The various components of the safety chain (harness, karabiners, safety device, etc.) must comply with current EN standards. - The rope must be protected from sharp edges and falling rocks that could cut the wires. - If the rope has been wet, it loses strength and is much more susceptible to abrasion. - Rope strength is significantly reduced by knots formed during use. If you need to tie knots on your rope, Simond recommends the double fisherman’s knot or full fist knot.
CARE AND STORAGE
Service life depends on the frequency and type of use. Mechanical stress, friction, UV rays and moisture will cause the rope to age and wear. Ropes can suffer irreparable damage from the very first use.
- Wash in clear, cold water (soap and machine wash possible, but no detergent).
- Store in the shade, away from humidity, frost, UV rays and any source of heat likely to degrade the rope’s properties.
LIFESPAN
Can be stored for 5 years in good conditions before normal use for 3 years or intensive use for 1 year. This life can be reduced to a single use in the event of a heavy fall, overloading, pinching and twisting, intensive use or severe stress (stopping a fall, exposure to dangerous chemicals, extreme temperatures, etc.). If your product no longer meets the inspection requirements described in the INSPECTION section, it must be destroyed. If you are in any doubt about the condition of the product, have it checked by a competent and trained person or destroy it.
