For more than 150 years, Simond has been developing mountaineering equipment in the valley of Chamonix, at the foot of Mont Blanc.

We're a team of 60 people, either born or adopted into the mountain-life family, with an incredible diversity of backgrounds and expertise: Operators, assembly specialists, adjustment technicians, engineers, designers, retailers,etc.
We're extremely proud to manufacture all of the Simond ice axes, crampons and carabiners in our Chamonix production site, which is ISO 9001 certified. This is our best safety guarantee, as each Simond employee, working alongside climbers, is driven by the aim of ensuring the absolute satisfaction of the safety requirements for our products.

When we joined the Decathlon family in 2008, we were able to expand our offering: Ropes, harnesses, backpacks, clothing and boots. All of these products are designed in Chamonix, and they're tried and tested in the field as well as in our lab, so we can guarantee you maximum confidence in your sport.
Always listening to climbers from around the world, Simond develops innovative, simple, reliable and effective products that are suited to all sports, from indoor climbing to big ascents.

Simond's athlete partners put the equipment to the test in the most extreme conditions, carrying on the tradition: "Simond the kit for great feats!".
As an international brand present in more than 30 countries, we're actively committed to working with standardisation bodies in France, Europe and around the world: AFNOR, CEN and UIAA.
