Additional information

Fabric waterproofing
We measure a fabric's resistance to a water column, in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure resistance, the more waterproof the fabric. Components with 2000 mm waterproof rating can resist 2000 mm of water pressure (which is roughly equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours). With waterproofing greater than 10 000 mm, the Mountaineering light jacket offers an extremely high level of waterproofing.
Product's waterproofing
The jacket's waterproof was tested in a rain shower with 100 litres of water / sqm / hour for 3 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a heavy mountain downpour.
Fabric breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporate resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more moisture, generated by an active body, is evaporated, and therefore the higher the fabric's breathability. We consider that if: - RET < 9 = highly breathable fabric - 9<RET<12 = breathable fabric - RET > 12 = slightly or not breathable fabric The jacket's fabric has a RET of 8
Garment breathability
On top of the main fabric's breathability, the choice of including mesh lined pocket helps to improve the jacket's thermal comfort, whilst helping to create air flow inside jacket by opening pockets.
The jacket's hood size makes it compatible with a mountaineering helmet. Its height and depth are adjustable to suit your needs. A semi-rigid visor offers better forehead and eye protection. The high collar provides protection for the lower part of your face.
Pocket and Zip
Outer shell: 2 large pockets that fasten with taped zips. The pockets are positioned on chest, making it easier to get access to them when wearing a harness. Inner jacket: 1 mesh zip pocket Two-way front zip that lets you open the jacket from the bottom, giving you quick access to the harness tie-in loop. The zip pulls are easy to use with gloves.
Product care
Machine wash at 30°C. Use washing powder, but no fabric conditioner. Close zips and adjust cuffs before putting in machine. Reactive water repellency with adequate treatment after each wash. A whole range of specially made waterproof and breathable fabric care products are available in our Decathlon stores. Making use of these helps to optimise the effectiveness of your garment throughout their life cycle.
Score to compare the environmental impact of products
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over its entire life cycle and with different indicators. An overall ABCDE rating is performed to help you easily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing the same type of products with each other (t-shirts, trousers, backpacks,...). Decathlon is a committed stakeholder in this environmental labelling approach. To get more information:

Can't wash after it get dirty

Really bad, after one use in the woods it get dirty of mesh and mud and I could wash it even tried two times. Really disappointed.

    Brand response :

    Hello Pawel Pieklo,

I'm sorry that the Men's Light Mountaineering Jacket did not meet you expectations. Would you be able give me more detail as to how you tried to wash the jacket and what the results were?

Jackets made for mountaineering are best washed with special liquids such as Nikwax Tech Wash which can be found here:
You would then need to reproof using a similar product to revitalise the breathability and waterproofing:

This method would give you the best results.

    Hope this helps

    Mountaineering light jacket.

Comfy. Found jacket to be lacking in breathability, got damp on inside from not too heavy perspiration. Could be better.
