Recommendation for locking off rope
The Karo is not an assisted braking device and the user must always hold the rope, even when it is paid in to the side slot. The slot cannot be used for locking off rope in event of fall of lead climber but simply used for allowing climber to rest

    Lightweight and cheap
Price, simple, works none so far

Bought this as a simple low cost lightweight belay for indoor use.

It does the job pretty well.

The locking noth can be a bit of a pain when paying out as I found if the rope is twisted it loops back round and gets into that noth, I have never actually tried to lock off using it and am not too keen on that feature.

If you want a cheap simple lightweight single rope belay its a decent buy, but it wont be your only / last belay...
