Temperature rating use
Our jackets have been tested in a laboratory, in a climatic chamber, allowing us to identify the recommended temperatures for use. For moderate activity (in 5 km/h wind), this jacket is suitable for temperatures up to -29°C.
Pockets and sacks
This jacket contains: 2 outer hand pockets 2 outer chest pockets accessible when wearing a harness + 1 patch pocket inside, one of these is for slipping in your phone 2 mesh net pocket inside jacket to keep your 2nd pair of gloves or flask warm 1 stuff sack for storing jacket on mountain excursions
Down hood designed for wearing over your mountaineering helmet, adjustable with 2 systems at front and rear of jacket
Reinforced forearms
Durable component has been selected to reinforce jacket's forearms. Because these areas are heavily used during practice, the chosen component is more robust than the main component of the jacket.

Malaku II Down Jacket - Red Simond

Good size and fit, well made with good materials, light and warm. Pockets seal with zips, spacious inside pockets too. The hood fits well and the tougher material used on the forearms is a good design idea. All this at a very reasonable price, as usual from Decathlon.

Tested at -15 Celcius on top of Mt. Kilimanjaro

Used this jacket on Mt. Kilimanjaro as my final layer. It was perfect for all the night camps where temperature dropped well below freezing. Used it on summit night and this jacket kept me very warm and toasty throughout the summit day. Was too warm inside jacket once the sun was out.
