We design products using materials and manufacturing processes that are recognized for having a lower environmental impact, such as natural or recycled materials (polyester, feathers, wool).

1% for the Planet®

We know that protecting our natural playground requires collective effort. That is why Simond has joined 1% for the Planet®.

1% for the Planet® connects donors and businesses with project-driven organizations to effectively increase donations for the benefit of the environment.
For Simond, this commitment specifically targets a portion of our gear (quickdraws, ice axes, crampons, and ropes), pledging us to donate 1% of the annual sales of these products directly to approved environmental non-profits.

In 2025, we focused our support on the "1% for Glaciers" fund and the Nest&Climb program, run by Asters. This ensures our contribution has a real and traceable impact.

People are at the heart of our production chain, and we are putting this commitment into practice through a partnership with Max Havelaar to try to achieve 100% Fairtrade cotton by 2030.

We are aware of our unique position: our equipment, designed to bring us closer to nature, also has an impact on it.

It is precisely so that we do not remain passive in the face of this paradox that we are taking action, aware of both our progress and our challenges.

To reduce our impact, we prioritize eco-design by using natural or recycled materials (polyester, feathers, wool), optimizing resources, and creating durable, easy-to-repair products that are rigorously tested.

We are also developing an ethical cotton supply chain, validated by independent certifications such as Fairtrade Max Havelaar to ensure fairer trade. This commitment is complemented by financial support for associations that share our values (En passant Par la Montagne, Handicap’Evasion, Les sommets de la Résilience).

These commitments are not just words. They are upheld and implemented on a daily basis by each member of our team.

Explaining our progress in terms of impact is doubly essential: it tells you where we are, and it allows us to measure how far we still have to go. Here is a series of indicators that demonstrate the reality of our commitments.

Our obsession with testing is based on a logical approach: pushing the durability of our equipment to its absolute limits.

This is a practice we encourage to extend your gear's lifespan, and a concrete example of the high potential of circularity.

To avoid obsolescence, collections are designed to last approximately five years.

Where possible, we prioritize French manufacturing. We also produce 10,000 ice axes and 10,000 pairs of crampons each year, right in the heart of the Alps.

All our products embody our values and commitments. We have made progress, but we want to go further. We are working to align our values and actions ever more closely. We are inventing more sustainable manufacturing techniques, bringing our production sites closer together where appropriate, and sourcing materials with a lower environmental impact. On the path to performance and sustainability, this is our commitment: to keep climbing.
